Aquarius Decan i – Hawk

#9KeysTarot Hawk- TAROT 5 OF AIR – Aquarius Decan i January 11 – 21

Aquarius is an AIR sign, so I describe it’s energy like a beleaguered Hawk. It is the number 5 of the Minor Arcana which is the point where first doubts or interruptions occur on the path toward the manifestation of ideas. This is a 5 of the AIR suit, and my Hawk has been getting disturbed by a cluster of four Starlings chasing him. I always wonder why little birds pester larger raptors as they do…I suppose it is to drive them away from their nesting sites. But they carry on for sooo long until the poor raptor flies far, far away~ still hungry.

It would seem that an individual rabbit or mouse would make an easier meal. Is that a message to us; to prioritize our goals and take ‘bite-sized’ portions to work on for our long-term projects? It could be!

The creatures of the AIR represent ideas to me. The mind is always coming up with thoughts to consider, some are fresh and new while others are old, worn out retreads that tend to leave us feeling stuck. In that case, we can hope that the Starlings in our mind WILL drive away those old raptors until they flee “out of sight, out of mind!” If you get stuck in old retread ideas, call in the Starlings by doing things that will temporarily distract you from those old thoughts. Then you can come back to your projects with a fresh attitude.

In this part of the year, we have just started playing out our New Year’s resolutions, and some of them may already have had a bit of poking and prodding. Others may have flown off, far, far away so that even the Hawk’s Shadow can no longer be seen!! Let’s hope you can get back on track and keep dis-raptors from entering your dreams!

Astrologically, the Sun will have just entered the Sign of Aquarius and there is a gathering of planets crowding around the Lunar Eclipse this Monday. The message for the masses is brought by the beneficial planets, Venus and Jupiter, aligning for goodwill and expanded peace. They are trine, in a pleasant relation to Mars, the energizer. Later they square Saturn, the rule maker who represents Father Time. It seems some good new rules can be laid down that will serve mankind over time, but with the eclipse of the Moon, our emotions will get jumbled by the crowd of competing energies. Surrender to the Ego-directed way of doing things and be guided by the Spirit.

Why must there always be ‘push back’ for the changes that support the many, rather than the few? Let’s keep our keen eyesight on the prize that waits in the distance. RID YOURSELF OF WHAT HOLDS YOU BACK! Focus on the long-term goals with small, daily steps toward it.

On the individual front, it is time to become the Star-ling of your own screenplay and act out the new role you have been dreaming about! Grab your sweats and head back to the gym. No one will care that your socks don’t match. You may feel encouraged to be surrounded by others aiming for better health in the New Year, just like you. START OVER EVERY DAY with your Intentions. Lather. Wash. Repeat.

HERE’S TO FRESH STARTS this Decan! Individually, then collectively, let’s add to the

“Change we want to see in the Word!” ~Cheers!

Healers Overcoming Rejection

“When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything.” –Andrew Boyd

When you see the pain in the world you may want to ease it. It may grieve you terribly to see it- and you may even feel it within your Body and Soul. You may feel it is your responsibility to erase it or ease it. We must do what we can, but we must also be ready to acknowledge what is ours and what is not ours. There are boundaries to our energy and unfortunately, who we can help. Some people choose not to heal.

You may find it hard to turn away because you know your destiny is bound with the destiny of others. You have crossed paths for a reason. We are here to teach each other life lessons. And when we reach out to others and they refuse to take our hand, it’s confusing and hurtful.

Don’t take their rejection personally. You are only responsible for your Self. You must allow others to take responsibility for themselves. It empowers them to do so and to claim it as their own.

You must grow strong enough to realize that everyone walks their path at their own pace. Although you’d like to reach out and hold their hand and walk with you, where you are~ Not everyone is ready for that.

If you look ahead and see others ahead of you on the path you may want to be with them. That also hurts. You must hold compassion for yourself and honor your march as your own. Believe in your journey and keep moving to your own music.

Keep shining brightly. Be the light in the darkness, so that others who catch a glimpse of your love and light have a direction to follow.

We are ALL headed to the same light.

We will ALL get there, eventually.

We learn as much as our souls can handle in this life. At our own pace and timing.

It may take a few more lives to master.

But know this….. You are loved…… You are part of God.

You WILL find your way home.

Grounding & Centering for Stress Reduction

Grounding & Centering techniques and tips:

~So, a friend of mine wanted to know how to get herself ‘grounded and centered’ after a hard weekend event that she was involved in. If you are an event planner, promoter or producer, you know how whacked out you can get emotionally and physically after a HUGE event! So here are some tips for getting your MoJo back after you’ve been physically and psychically drained. ~These are also some good practices for regular Spiritual hygiene:

*GROUNDING is reconnecting your body’s electromagnetic field, or aura, to the Earth’s. It is done by Visualizing your energy flowing from your crown down to the soles of your feet into the Earth and then flowing back in. It is best done on the Earth in bare feet, but you can do this on the floor as well. As you inhale, envision your crown chakra at the top of your head, slowly opening with each breath and allowing you to gather up all the energy that lies in the bubble that surrounds you, called your aura. Gather up this energy and send it down through your body, out through your feet and into the Earth with an exhale. As you inhale, breathe in positive Earth energy to fill up your body into every cell and filling your aura.#

*CENTERING is another Visualizing and Energetic movement exercise where you gather all of your scattered energies and gently compress them back into the center of your Soul at your Solar Plexus Chakra. It is important to learn to hold your mindful presence in this mental and physical state, so that you can stay in a calm center even as chaos rolls about outside of you. Think of yourself as the eye of the storm as you move calmly and decisively through your day.# So here’s how to do it:

A. CLEANSING; Have a hot Epsom Salt bath. This helps to ease weary muscles and is a great way to get vital nutrient magnesium back into your body. The salts will pull toxins out of your body so shower off with cooler water and have a tall drink of water and a good long rest. Anytime you’ve had a hard day or taken an emotional hit, take a shower and visualize the negativity draining away as you shower it off. If you need to, have a good cry and release that stress right down the drain too!

B. GROUNDING; To get out of your headspace and back into your body, do a little barefoot movement to connect the soles of your feet to the Earth energy. You can stretch, roll around on a mat, do yoga and/or walk barefoot on the soil or sand. This is a great way to wake up your body again after that long nap. Start working the joints of your feet, roll your ankles, stretch up onto the balls of your feet and down on a step, while balancing by holding onto a chair. Then stretch your calves, knees, hips and thighs by doing some lunges. You know, pretend you are sword fighting and step out and bend your knees gently as you say “En guarde!” Do this on both legs gently to warm up.

Then walk briskly while swinging your arms (or even march) to get some air flowing in and around your body. The aerobic inflow of oxygen will help wake up your brain and revitalize all of your cells. At this point, sing a song or chant or shout. It releases tension held in your body.

Then try a Yoga “Tree pose” by standing with both feet squarely and comfortably below your shoulders with your hands at your sides. Raise your arms as you inhale and slowly drop them with each inhalation. With each deep and slow inhalation imagine your breath coming from within the Earth, up your legs and into your body. With each exhalation allow your nervous energy to flow back into the Earth. Try breathing IN, to the count of 4 and OUT, to the count of 8. This allows you to relax. Be aware of how your body feels. Be aware of how YOU in your body feel! Hopefully, your body is more solid and strong feeling.

C. CENTERING; Close your eyes, and feel your SELF within your body. Extend your energy outward horizontally as far as you can picture, visualizing the natural elements of the Earth. FOCUS on a theme or KEYWORD. As you bring your awareness back into yourself, gather all the positive energy you need from the trees, rocks, streams, sunshine, and Earth. State your Intention; “I need to remember who I am.” or  “I intend to reclaim my natural state of grace and calm that refreshes me.”

At this point, I gather my art supplies, mandalas, incense and candle to prepare for a “busy but relaxed” mental state of meditation. As I light my tealight candle, I state my intention and say a prayer of gratitude for being able to take time to heal myself through mindfulness. Then I relax as I color the mandala. All the while I think of myself as the shape of the mandala and infill those parts of my body with colors that seem appropriate for the energies I want to embody from the center, outward.

D. EMBODY this energy; When I’m finished coloring I like to vocalize something about it aloud. This will remind me to EMBODY my intended energy! I will strive to feel this same way whenever I look at this mantra. A simple song I like to use is this; “As I breathe in, I breathe in Peace. As I breathe out, I breathe out Love.”~ You can chant while you finish up the last bits of coloring to embed your emotion into the art that reminds you of your Authentic Self that lives in your Center.

E. RECHARGE; Did you know that our bodies are electromagnetic batteries!? In order to recharge your body use this Chi-gong inspired method; Place one hand over your dominate fist and place it on your stomach, just below the center of your ribcage. It fits there nicely. In a sitting position, bend forward and exhale to the count of 4. As you sit back up, inhale to the count of 8. Do this as it feels comfortable to you. Repeat until you feel your energy flowing into all of your cells. That could be about 10 times.

F. MOVE IT; Try the Tai chi “Moving Ocean Waves” exercise to get your chi moving. I found this youtube of Jake Mace doing some great movements that beginners can do: Be comfortable. Move at your own pace gently so nothing hurts. The third movement, Ocean Waves is my favorite for getting your center energy moving!

4 of Earth – Packrat – Capricorn iii

The third Decan of Capricorn, January 10-19, is mutable, which means that it’s when the material begins to morph into the ethereal. The solidity of Earth sign Capricorn will change to airy Aquarius on January 20. The message from this “Packrat” is to lay up your treasures in Heaven…rather than be swamped by the plague of materialism. Now is the time to simplify! Minimalize! Make room in your life for the new wave of upgrades that are on the way~

The sign of Capricorn is that of the Seagoat, who seeks high and low for answers to his quest. Represented here as a Packrat, the old hoarder has just heard the call of the eternal. As the rat rises to listen more carefully, you find he becomes a ghost of his old self and decides to forgo the treasures of the Old World for the eternal. The times are a changing!

What is it you would like to do in the New Year? What goals are calling you? Can you release old ways of thinking and attachments to things that no longer serve your highest good? Purge your closets and your accounts!  Rid yourself of clutter. Take a look at your belongings and decide what you can donate to someone who would give your possessions a good home. See if you can minimalize your requirements for living and still live well!

This Decan’s Astrological signs point to a change that allows you to lighten your burdens and move forward. Meanwhile, keep opinions to yourself this Decan as there are conflagrations among the stars that invite argument and dissension. Hold your power in your center and be at peace while chaos swirls about. Keep your eyes on the prize, declutter your mind and chant your mantras.

When you make room in your life, heart or mind….the NEW will fill it, because Nature abhors a vacuum.

Trust those Bright Blessings that are already on their way!

3 of Earth – Investment – 9 Keys Tarot

Decan ii Capricorn December 31 – January 9

Keywordsfor this second decan in Capricorn: #Blueprints #Reshape #Remodel #Law #Civilization #Pyramids #Cooperation, #Collaboration #Synergy #Arts #Industry #Aspirations #Goals #Achievements #Support #Renovation #Resolutions #Foundation #Teamwork #Cooperation #Labor #Beauty #Skills #Development #Music #Revelation #Resources #Earth #World #Support #Renovation #Structures #Resolutions #Posterity

Planetsin your astrological charts found from 20-30* in Capricorn Decan ii will be affected. Special astrological impact will occur at 14 degrees Capricorn, when the New Moon also eclipses the Sun as Uranus stations direct on January 5, 2019.

December 31is also the seventh day of Christmas, indicated by the ‘7 Swans a Swimming’. This decan runs from today thru Jan 6, which is ‘Epiphany’, the celebration of the day that Divinity was revealed by the presence of Magi on ‘King’s Day’!

The symbolism of the 7 Swans are gifts of the Holy Spirit; Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Devotion. The Tarot’s ‘Magician’ card has this holiness within himself but it may be yet unproven in the world. The #1 card ‘Magi’ also called the ‘Seeker’ of the 9 Keys Tarot is featured as a white Swan! #Synchronicity

The Tarot of 9 Keys 3 of Earth card features three ants building pyramids. It signifies that Material gains won by hard work will be valued and supported. Cooperation is highlighted. A key message is that “Others will back you now as before you may have struggled alone with your plans.” Sounds like it is time to make those ‘Kickstarter’ plans!

Astrological changes this decan:

  1. 1. Saturn rules Capricorn in general and the Decan ii ruler is Mars, which provides energy to restart things you have let slide! Go forward! Renew plans that move you toward your goals. I wonder if this decan holds the origin of the tradition for setting New Year intentions??
  2. 2. The Sun conjuncts Saturn for a somber, serious Jan 1 this year, but with jolly Jupiter in Sagittarius most of this year, I think that this conjunction will act symbolically as the starting whistle to begin the New Year. Ready. Set. GO!
  3. 3. On Jan 4 Mercury enters Capricorn, helping you express aloud your New Year’s Resolutions. Aim for long-term projects that need cooperation or collaboration and will provide material results that last a long time. 😉
  4. 4. The most exciting astrological event this decan is the first New Moon of the year, January 5, meeting up with the Fixed star VEGA at 14* Capricorn in LYRA, the Harp of Orpheus. Spiritual and Physical Healing through music, song, and the arts are indicated. The lesson of Orpheus is ‘Beware of self-sabotage at last moment.’ Carry out the plans you make now as they have all the potential of becoming very successful!
  5. 5. During this Poetic Solar Eclipse January 5, Uranus will station directly in Aries, adding a bit of excitement, maybe poetic justice or an EPIPHANY?! Soon Uranus will begin to move into Taurus, indicating instability in the Environment. Outcomes of this cosmic energy may be seen by July 16 in the outer world. We can hope for renewable energy laws or for protective rules toward Internet privacy that will be enacted then.
  6. 6. On January 7, Venus joins the party of serious decision makers, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. This can indicate powerful women entering the world stage to create lasting changes toward equality. It is about time!
  7. 7. Recently the Moon’s Nodes have shifted into Cancer and Capricorn, indicating a time to shift our attention on Building and Nurturance. This complements the 9 Keys Tarot’s 3 of Earth card that indicates COOPERATION among the colony of ants. Pyramids can only be built over time with coordination. Long-term changes take charismatic leadership and labor over time. A long-term vision is needed to complete projects that last. It is time to enforce checks and balances, implement fair laws and disallow a hierarchy that would allow hidden pyramid schemes!

Aside- I find it extremely synchronous that the newly elected Democratic majority in the US House of Representatives will begin legislation through cooperation. It makes me hopeful for long-term restructuring of government policies to begin in this decan!

Overall Message: Look for seasoned advisors to help when you have questions about where to invest your life’s energy and resources or to create boundaries that help you restructure your goals. Work continuously, with measured steps toward growth. Do not be distracted by the winds of chaos, but press forward toward victory.

Chipmunk – Decan 2 of Earth – Dec 22 – 31, 2018

9 KEYS TAROT – CHIPMONK 2 of Earth – Investment & the NEW YEAR

Dec 22 – 31, 2018 Is the first Decan of Capricorn. In this period we have to consider what we will do with our new year’s “investment” of resources; our time, energy and finances.

The days after the Winter Solstice provides a time to reflect on the past year and decide what we will do differently to enhance our life experience and increase the comfort and joy of all those we can.

The Chipmunk is featured with its cheeks full of seeds that will be stashed away throughout the cold Winter season. This ensures its survival until the first fruits of the Spring arrive. What have you done to prepare for the Winter and lean times? How will you invest your time wisely in order to do greater things in the future?

Typically, this Tarot image is a juggler that has two coins to rub together. It reminds me of the parable of ‘talents’ that were given to the servants of the house while the Master went on a journey. The servants were charged with investing their talents wisely so that they increased in value. This would be a good time to take a new class, to join a gym, or begin a new spiritual practice. It would be an especially good time to join with others so that the combined efforts of a group were multiplied for the benefit of others; consider joining a choir, a book study group or a social justice group that serves those in need.

Astrologically, in 2018, we have recently had the Moon’s nodes move into Capricorn and Cancer. This creates a dynamic between institutions and families. It moves the public focus toward finding ways to create harmony between these two realms rather than divide them into opposing factions. What can you do to create more understanding?

We also have the planets Saturn and Pluto in a long, slow approach this entire year. Picture the Plutonian Earth changes that receding glaciers wrought over the land as the last ice age ended. Combine that with the Saturnian energy that relates to rules, restrictions, the code of law and projects that need a lot of time to complete. The warning of climate change is upon us and as the polar ice caps melt, we watch with trepidation the eventual calamity that is coming. As stewards of the Earth, it is high time to instigate necessary social and environmental improvements for our collective survival!

Jupiter recently moved into Sagittarius bringing with it the energy of expansion to our spirituality and dealings with foreigners…the choices we make individually will decide if this energy is used collectively to better mankind, or if institutional force will be used upon the masses to override freedom. Jupiter could be a ‘bull in the china shop’ this year, upsetting traditional institutions, especially after January 13, as it crosses the USA natal Ascendant. If we come together to negotiate and cooperate with each other, the solutions we create could be monumental! Ponder your future and plan wisely. Namaste’

9 Keys Tarot – ROOSTER Dec 13 – Dec 22

ROOSTER – CELEBRATION – 10 of FIRE

9 KEYS TAROT; Rooster – Sagittarius iii December 13 – Dec 21
The Rooster is a symbol of the highest point in the movement of Fire, so its effects are both that of Celebration or Burnout. We need the heat of FIRE to thrive through the Winter, but can get burned if we stand too close to it for too long.

At this time of year, we can be tempted to push ourselves to the point of exhaustion in order to enjoy the feeling of reward. But keep this Rooster card in mind, and try to pace yourself during the next few days so that you don’t suffer from Holiday burnout this year! Perfection is not as important as being mindful during this extra social season.

The finish line awaits us this at the end of this decan, while we wrap up efforts from the previous year, and tie up loose ends. We need to allow those things that no longer serve our greater good to pass by the wayside, while we put finishing touches on the projects we have worked to complete.

Astrologically, the Sun is in the third decan of Sagittarius approaching the Winter Solstice. The Sun rules this decan, providing the last drop of vitality and strength to complete whatever lies just unfinished. Holiday plans should be easy to wrap up within the next ten days in time to ring in joyful celebrations, if we are mindful.

Last week brought a conjunction between Neptune and Mars in Pisces, with Mars just leaving yesterday. The combination of these two planets bring added energy to idealistic plans, especially those that serve humanity. I hope you’ve made some plans to accomplish great goals during the latest New Moon in Sagittarius that include serving your circles of influence.

Jupiter is happy in his native home of Sagittarius and will prevail over the new year, 2019, with larger than life excess… and expansion of great Hope. At this point all the planets but Uranus are moving direct, so we can expect smooth sailing when eccentric Uranus goes direct in early January. This bodes well for us steady growth and progress through mid-April and hopeful energies all year.

It’s easy to anticipate with joy our upcoming special Holiday moments during this week, but we may also miss dear ones no longer with us. The skull in the background of this card shows us that we are mortal, and as such can choose to surrender to the sanctity of ‘each moment as a holy moment.’ May we honor our loved ones as the cock crow wakes us to the fact that it is time to “Seize the Day!” and create a lifetime of fullness though awareness of the wheel ever turning. Be grateful for the little moments of joy, for of such is life made.
Bright Blessings to you and yours!

Namaste and Happy Celebrations of Light~

The 9 of Fire card: “Achievement” @ 9 Keys Tarot

TODAY I begin my year-long process of writing about the Minor Arcana of my Tarot deck, “The 9 Keys Tarot.” It’s a bit of an “Achievement” that these ideas are finally going into the web-o-sphere!

The numbered cards correspond with the 10 day cycles that Egyptians used in their Lunar calendar. These 10 degree “Decans” are astrological place keepers dividing each of the 30 degree Zodiacal Signs. Each of these Decans are “ruled” by one of the seven visible planets. The ancient Chaldean astronomers plotted the paths of the planets and designated ‘rulers’ of the visible planets, Sun and Moon to the Decans in this order; Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury and the Moon. Thus, the nine cards (2-10) in each of the 4 suits, comes to 36 Decans in the 360 degree Wheel of the Year.

MONDAY, December 3, 2018, signals the beginning of the second Decan in Sagittarius. I will begin by describing the corresponding 9 of Fire card in my ‘9 Keys Tarot’ deck, which I call the Hen. The Hen card shows a Bandaged Hen and bridle with 9 eggs, the product of her Achievement. I define all of the #9 cards as the “Pinnacle”. Because this card is in the Fire suit, which denotes Action, it’s meaning is “Achievement”.

This Decan is ruled by the Moon and the Moon actually passes through the second Decan of Sagittarius on Thursday night, December 6th, 2018. This would be a good day to meditate on the qualities of this card and set the intentions to bring the following qualities into your own life!

The Hen’s purpose in life is to be productive, laying eggs and raising chicks. She is self-sufficient and quite good at this, even when threatened by predators of many kinds. Her warning is to not cluck with pride, lest her treasures be discovered by predators!

Ancient sources cite that this Decan represents the Lord of Strength and the ability to endure and hold one’s ground. Hardships may come but one must be of stout heart and be firmly resolute in order to defend one’s ambition, and to endure the fray victoriously.

The bridle is symbolic of the final victory that is to come in the last of the Tarot Minor Arcana, the 10 of Earth, which is Manifestation- symbolized by a winning Race Horse. Achievements must be laid upon one another in order to realize a final victory.

The downside of this card is the idea of despair in the face of challenges. The weasel, the fox, the snake, and the human all wish to have part of the share of the Hen’s fertility. Predators often use stealth, so boldness is called upon to outwit these marauders that come in the dark of the night. This card may also represent the trauma that accompanies the ‘dark night of the soul’, so persistence must shine through in order for the Hen to prevail.

Achievement is attained after planning a strategy, enduring hardships, redirecting one’s efforts and finally by good timing. To produce something of true value it is important to discover the niche that best suits your skills and the market for it. Achievement gives us a sense of accomplishment and confidence. It can be a reward in itself.

Meditate on these ideas through December 13, when I post on card 10 of Fire, the Rooster. Namaste’
